I use this soft for a long time. I changed three times my GSM phone, Alexander Traud answer me in one day and made a new version of GSM Remote when it was necessary to support a new model phone.

Thanks to him and congratulation.

Versatile (phonebook backup or SMS send) and efficient (quick and easy) program. Plus : *VERY* good support by Alexander Traud in person.

but could be better. with logosender by macmedia i can set it so that sms received by my 8250 come straight to my laptop over the ir. your gui beats logosender hands down, but i really miss that feature!
oh... and any chance of sending and receiving calendar information? that'd be brilliant.

GSM Remote ReviewGreat when iSync does not support your phone - Version: 1.2.8, 8/26/2004 04:41PM PST

On Jaguar absolute winner. I refuse to just run after the latest hardware, and my older Sony J70 is perfectly supported. I would expect this from Sony or Apple but noooo....So this guy does perfect Jobs;-)

GSM Remote Reviewusefull but limitations - Version: 1.2.7, 9/2/2003 11:53AM PST

mfix--2008
seems to be a usefull little App. tested with some Nokia & SonyEricsson phones. but seems to be only able to handle one single entry at the time (select all doesn't work) so if you have to delete say 400 contacts, you type 400 times delete, or what ???

GSM Remote ReviewWorks, yes, useful, no - Version: 1.2.7, 8/21/2003 12:00AM PST

I just tried this app. It does work with my Nokia 6310i.
1) only imports about 25 contacts from the phone unless you specifically tell the app that you'd like to have them all, thank you. DUH!
2) only handles ONE number per contact, and a serial number. No other contact info that the phone supports.
3) if Address Book has Bluetooth connection, this doesn't.
4) yes, you can see received calls, missed calls etc but only the contact name (if in the phone), phone number and a serial number (1 being the last call missed, 9 the oldest.). No info of when this call was missed/received. This has been in phones since, I don't know, 1995.
I've deleted GSM Remote already.

GSM Remote ReviewAs a follow… - Version: 1.2.5, 4/21/2003 07:23PM PST

whytoi
up to my previous comment on problems with loading the complete SIM Phonebook. Well, the author was very responsive and exchanged multiple emails in a short time to bug fix the issue. Now I have a beta version of GSM Remote X that fixed the issue. In summary, apart from an essential utility for GSM phone and the nice simple interface, the last star is always reserved for great user support.

GSM Remote CommentaryFor some strange… - Version: 1.2.5, 4/19/2003 09:24PM PST

whytoi
reason, GSMRemote can only read the first 25 entries in my 200 memory slot SIM card. Strangely, I was able to import an saved data file (200 entries) and save it to the phone. I was even able to save modifications to the SIM (beyond the first 25) without problem. But when I tried read the SIM again, it again showed only the first 25 entries. Weird...

all standard phonebooks* --- No. It can read only the first phonebook entry. --- AFAIK there is no OS X tool able to read multiple phonebook entries. Multiple entries are standard on several business mobiles. Nokia's phonebook software works only under Windows. :-(
