This ASIO driver… - Version: 1.3.3, 4/14/2001 07:52PM PST

just routes ASIO data from Cubase to the Sound Manager. Huge latencies occur and CPU spikes cause Cubase 5 to stutter causing clicks and pops; it is a specific problem with Cubase5, SoundManager, and having VM off. The only way to use Cubase 5 successfully the iMic is to buy (60Euro) the ASIO driver from Propagamma, which reduces latencies to under 20ms. Then it rocks and 20bit audio recording is possible. I'm not being negative about the iMic, it's perfect for simple sound-in sound-out application under Sound Manager, but for ASIO applications you really need the Propagamma usb-audio driver for it to work reliably. Great on my Powerbook Ti 500, amzaing sound. Wish they had audio specs on their site, but it really does sound good. Only limitation with the Propagamma driver is that when its extensions are loaded the iMic is only available to ASIO apps (not available to SoundManager apps), so you need to work around this until a fix comes up.
