Product Description:

The G4 Cube Firmware Update 4.1.9 will run only on G4 Cube models running Mac OS 9.1 or later from a local hard disk. If you are using Mac OS X on your Cube, you must start up from a local Mac OS 9.1 or later writeable partition (not a CD or network disk) before following the update instructions.

What's new in this version:

Includes improvements to starting up Mac OS X from the local hard disk, FireWire target disk mode, network startup, and system stability. This update also adds support for additional security options that allow the Open Firmware to be password-protected.

Installed G4 cube… - Version: 4.1.9, 11/3/2001 10:16PM PST

Firmware last week. Now I am getting a dialog box stating "There was insufficient memory to initialize Remote Access during system start up. Try restarting with fewer system extensions." After long hours troubleshooting, my printer, scanner, external floppy drive and Palm Pilot work fine but somehow when my hub is connected, it doesn't work and give me the above dialog box when I boot up. the news sites, they pulled the G4 firmware update temporarily because there were reports that it was disabling sound in some cases (reportedly only for pre 9.2 OSes).
