Product Description:

The Contour Overdrive is a custom version of USB Overdrive that was specifically designed for the Contour Design UniMouse and Perfit Mouse and does NOT support any other device. The mouse settings allow you to speed up your daily tasks by assigning useful actions to all the extra buttons in your USB mouse. You'll typically want to assign a control-click to the right button for easy contextual menu access, and use the middle button for auto-scrolling which makes it easy to scroll your documents using the mouse. All the settings can be configured globally or on an application-specific basis. For games that already use InputSprockets, the Contour Overdrive provides all the needed hooks to support the device-specific configuration panels provided by the manufacturer. The Control Panel includes an active help feature that explains each command and option as you move the cursor around.

What's new in this version:

Fixed an incompatibility with the Griffin iMate ADB to USB adapter.
Added visual cursor feedback fpr AutoScroll
Rewrote most of the low-level part to get rid of the custom USB drivers and use Apple's standard ones instead, which makes the Contour Overdrive fully compatible with Mac OS 9 and the new Game Sprockets. The custom drivers are still available for use under Mac OS 8.x without Game Sprockets, and a new option in the Options menu can activate and deactivate them.

a Contour Optical Unimouse last week. Even though the package said a CD was included, there was none inside. So I visited the website and downloaded Overdrive version 1.3.7, but the mouse still didn't work (other than simple clicks). Since the drivers and other downloads on the web page were dated 2000 and 2001, I thought there should probably be new drivers available so I called Tech Support, but never received a return phone call. I then emailed Customer Service, but never received a reply. I finally got the driver to work by deleting the old Prefs files and reinstalling, but this will be the last product I purchase from Contour.

Jeff Johnson but his iMac must be packing a sad. It worked flawlessly for me - easy download - fast no questions asked install - and I'm now rocking the cursor with double-clicks and auto-scrolled bliss...
