Product Description:

Opera is a powerful browser - rich in enhancements and features. Speed is an issue we keep in mind at all times while coding, resulting in a faster browsing experience for the user. Opera features 128bit SSL encryption, version 2 and 3. The first browser on the market to support TLS 1.0. This means that you can do secure online ordering of goods and services, online banking without any additional security proxy software or modules, ensuring complete security for your online transactions. It is fast becoming a nightmare for website developers to make their pages 'best viewed' with one of the big browsers. Using Opera, you know that your pages are best viewed on any browser. Use Opera as your standard reference browser to make sure that your pages are open to all, and not just to those with a specific browser, it will save you valuable time when developing your pages. As an effect of this, you also learn how to write proper code, which is invaluable in itself.

Opera ReviewWorld's fastest browser?… - Version: 5.0, 11/9/2002 07:48AM PST

Which world would that be? Testing it against both IE and iCab, it was the clear loser in speed for any previously unviewed site I attempted to connect with. A very nice clean browser, but if some company is going to use a claim as its slogan, it should be able to back it up within reason.

decent browser. Doesn't execute certain JavaScripts that NN and IE can. I appreciate the effort, however I can't switch to Opera as my primary browser when it can't handle certain sites with certain JS. In a Coke vs. Pepsi-like war, I do like the Spirtes of the world, but its not that simple here.

Opera as my primary browser almost a couple of years now, I think, since it was in beta still and what I like with it, is that it is a browser and only that. And it's fast. the tech support is good which is important as well. A drawback would be that some sites doesn't support it, but Opera can't be blamed for that, rather Microsquish, I'd say. Pages come like lightning on my G4, at least. Keep it slim!
