an interesting little download. Suggest you take Arlo's advice, or, if you're still confused, hit Download Now (file size: list) link at top of page and follow directions CAREFULLY - 'cause if you don't do it right - watch out... either way it does work, so does my camera - but I can't tell you if it works any better because it worked great to begin with. Comprende?

a star because of the complicated install and because my installer crashed after updating the camera. Other then that I love the update. I would follow the link at the top of this page that links to Nikon's web site and follow the directions carefully. Basically you need to pull some extensions/control panels and restart before the updater will work. The update speeds up consecutive photo taking-very nice.

update - works fine. A couple of points for Mac installation: 1. Follow the instructions regarding the removal of certain files from the System Folder, but make sure you leave the file called "E990 Driver" in the Extensions folder. If this file isn't present during the upgrade, you will get the "camera not connected" error. 1. Before running the upgrade application, give it more memory (say 20MB). This should prevent Type 1 crashes some people have experienced during the upload.
