Accordance CommentaryDownloads of Upgrades - Version: 8.2.3, 5/11/2009 10:32PM PST

Now that Accordance has a Check for Updates feature built in to the Accordance menu, the stats on this page are no longer accurate. Most people are downloading the update directly and so are not reflected here. For example, as I write, this page shows 99 downloads of the current version, whereas our stats show total downloads of this version as around 900 in the last 24 hours.

Although I've not spent much time w/8.0 yet. I can say that it is noticeably faster. That fact alone makes it worth the upgrade price (to me).

Upgrade pricing ($39) applies only to those upgrading from version 7. For the rest of us, it's as if they don't know us.

Accordance ReviewFrom simple to indepth - Version: 7.4.2, 4/8/2008 07:58PM PST

I've used Accordance for a number of years. The interface for simple searches and parallel texts is extremely simple. Yet, with a few clicks I can do sophisticated lexical or syntactical studies in Greek or Hebrew. In 7.4 the resource pallet has been rethought and made even more intuitive. OakTree continues to invest in updating and improving this software over the years so that now, it is an extremely stable, mature, and usable program.

The plethora of available modules is almost overwhelming and is growing almost daily and not just in English. As I grow, Accordance never limits me. Rather, I doubt anyone can outgrow it's capabilities. For serious academic study, I know of no tool that can touch the resources available in Accordance.

OakTree Software's tech support is unsurpassed, as is their sales/support department. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about them.

Accordance ReviewThe Best Bible Software! - Version: 7.0.2, 7/13/2006 07:24AM PST

Accordance is the best Bible software I've every seen or tested. And I've seen Logos, BibleWorks, VerseSearch, etc. And, of course, this is native Mac application which alone makes it much better than any port or emulation. It's very easy to use, and what's most important for me - it combines everything into one single application, while in PC side of the fence one has to use several applications to get the same functionality. Version 6 was very stable, and v.7.0.2 also brings the same stability back. Thank you for such a wonderful program!!!

I have to add that the pricing policy is also very good. You can start with the basic module and buy additional modules later to grow up your library, and they credit your money for the next update, so you have to pay only the difference. Thank you for this too! Without it, I wouldn't able to use all what I have now. And OakTee Software has excellent user support, too! (Thank you, Helen!)

Accordance ReviewSuperior Bible Software - Version: 7.0, 5/25/2006 07:39PM PST

The folks at OakTree Software have consistently produced cutting edge Bible study software for the Macintosh that is unsurpassed by any package on any platform. I know -- I own copies of Libronix for windows and several other less well-known packages for both platforms. None of them can compare with the flexibility of searches offered, the speed of the package, or the intuitive nature of the user interface. The software engineers have produced a stellar package with the newest offering. The new features of version 7 take Accordance well beyond any other application on the market. The new analysis graphs, slide-show function, search by root, arrange by module, and the highlighting feature expanded to include all modules -- just to list a few new features -- have made the newest version well worth the minimal upgrade fee. If you insist on the best Bible study package available, you really must try this application. While you can get in at entry level for about $39, an adequate package for the serious Bible student will cost at least several hundred dollars. I do hope the folks at OakTree will offer some larger, more inexpensive packages in the future.

Accordance CommentaryInstallation and setup overly complex. - Version: 7.0, 5/25/2006 05:23PM PST

I prefer the newer Mac version of QuickVerse. While it is lacking in some useful features, it is easier to set up and use than Accordance. Accordance is much too modular and way more expensive than QuickVerse. Hopefully, QuickVerse will add some features (such as adding additional font choices) and smooth over some rough edges in future versions. The free MacSword is also a good alternative.

Accordance Review10 reasons why to - Version: 6.9.1, 11/30/2005 05:57AM PST

invest in Accordance: #10) There are several good Bible Study programs on the market, and have been so for many years. Accordance is a newer entry. I believe it's been about ten years now, and its creators learned what the serious Bible student needs, to what the novice will enjoy 9) I've invested heavily in two other products over the years, and I was always "kinda-sorta" happy but never fully satisfied. 8) Customer support was fair to good with those other Bible programs. Accordance support, experientially, has always been very good. 7) Accordance's website for product upgrades is great, and module purchasing includes a serial number. It's fast and easy, but for "unlocking software groups" you need to purchase and have on hand their CDs. Also, many files are too large to download. You may only need one CD for basic entry level, to several for advanced studies, to numerous if you're at a scholar's level. This is due to the Greek and Hebrew language studies, advanced study commentaries, and reference study modules (books). 6) Accordance's module selections play second fiddle to no one. 5) It's coded (written) for several operating platforms, but appears to be heavily invested toward Mac users (this is good and the way it should be:>). 4) Mac os9 is fully supported, and as their leap into osX. 3) Updates to Accordance's heart program is always timely and constantly updated. 2) New modules are constantly being added, and others updated as needed. And the number (1) reason is; Invest in Accordance because it's what Jesus would use to teach you <smile>. This program gets a rare five star rating from me because it's the only Bible study program worth a serious long term investment of your time and money. Manuals are available free in .pdf, but an extra cost for well written paper manuals
