Product Description:

The only Bible software designed for Mac, trusted by scholars, and right for you, Accordance offers an easy to use and integrated approach to Bible study. Strong's numbers display and link to the Greek and Hebrew. A Resource palette gives instant access to all Bible texts, lexicons, commentaries, and other resources. Despite its ease of use, Accordance offers unprecedented power and advanced search capability in original language texts and translations.

Hundreds of Accordance-compatible modules are available on a variety of CD-ROMs, but all purchased modules are completely integrated into your Accordance library. The Primary Collections include texts and tools centered on particular Bible versions. The interactive Bible Atlas lets you explore the lands of the Bible, build your own maps, follow animated routes, and navigate three-dimensional landscapes. Many additional specialized CD-ROMs offer lexicons, journals, major commentary series, and much more.

What's new in this version:

  • When the cursor is over a multi-verse reference in a Tool or User Notes window, the Instant Details box now displays up to 8 verses of the text.
  • When entering verse references it is no longer necessary to avoid entering a space between a book number and name, so that 2 Kings is now acceptable anywhere in a list of references. However, now you must add a comma or semi-colon after the last number of the previous reference so that it is not interpreted as a book number. Thus Gen 1:1; Ex 1:1 must be used rather than Gen 1:1 Ex 1:1.
  • Copy as Citation and Copy as References now automatically add a space between a book number and name, so that 2Kings becomes 2 Kings. This is separate from the setting of Use SBL Standard notation in Preferences/Appearance.
  • Accordance now converts to the the correct Unicode characters when exporting NA27 apparatus sigla. Slight changes were also made in the "stripping" of characters in Greek and Syriac.
  • Control-command-R adds the selected verse(s) to the top item in the Add Selection To submenu, making it easier to add verses to a Reference List. The limit of verses has been raised from 1000 to 10,000.
  • Command-+ and Command- - now resize the text in the Analysis, Concordance, Table, Parsing, and Text Differences windows, as they already did in the main windows.
  • Control-0 changes the current search text to the tenth item in the pop-up menu.

Accordance CommentaryDownloads of Upgrades - Version: 8.2.3, 5/11/2009 10:32PM PST

Now that Accordance has a Check for Updates feature built in to the Accordance menu, the stats on this page are no longer accurate. Most people are downloading the update directly and so are not reflected here. For example, as I write, this page shows 99 downloads of the current version, whereas our stats show total downloads of this version as around 900 in the last 24 hours.

Although I've not spent much time w/8.0 yet. I can say that it is noticeably faster. That fact alone makes it worth the upgrade price (to me).

Upgrade pricing ($39) applies only to those upgrading from version 7. For the rest of us, it's as if they don't know us.
