Once you go to OSX 10.5 or any version without the Classic environment this is no longer usable. It is regrettable since this is such a highly useful little application.

I was recently upgrading my Mac OS 10.4 system to run the newest version of Suitcase's Fusion font manager. Having to convert and worry about over 1500 fonts I was tearing my hair out, because the new utility was finding that some of my most vital project fonts were "incompatible" and "irreparable." SUPER!

One in particular was a .ttf font (JSL Ancient) that was a free font, and there's nothing else like it. Nothing to buy... no main font store to re-purchase it from. Nothing. Not to mention - it's been used in several of my company's books and reflow is NOT an option. Suitcase Fusion just wouldn't accept it and I had no idea what to do.

First thing I did was get on the internet and started looking for ways to convert or repair .ttf files to work with this new version of the program. Really all I wanted to do was add all the "FOND" information so that Fusion would look at it and say "Ok, that font is acceptible." After zero luck searching and trying different things, as a last resort I downloaded the TT Converter and ran classic mode, expecting to get the same negative outcome.

I was floored when the TT Converter saved the day. It added the needed resource information and now the new utility recognizes the font as functional and all my precious layouts won't have to be reflowed. Thank HEAVENS for TT Converter and classic mode!!!

Just wanted to post my experience because maybe there are some other ultra-frustrated folks out there who may have the same problem as me. Thought I'd offer my help.

Thanks so much. This program is worth so much more than $10.

I was wondering the same thing as some of the others below...namely, when is an OS X version going to become available? Apparently I can just put TTF files directly in my fonts file under OS X. That's great! So if you have OS X, you don't even need TTConverter! But it'll obviously still be a needed program for those running only OS 9 or below (or for PC users).

question: why would anyone need an OS X version, since .ttf file are supported by the OS itself?

often the PC font names doesn't translate and I have to copy or type in the file name and font name. PITA, but worth it unless I want to do a batch. Ack.
