it by opening the Preferrences in Tape and simply clicking Save, which wrote a Preferrences file to the hard drive and removed the startup error. Tape should write out a generic prefs file on launch if it doesn't find one rather than displaying an error message.

used it to create Java application packages. However, every time I launch Tape I get an error -43 for "Open Prefs err."
