This is the first usable cbr viewer I've tried on OSX. Much better than jomic and comical.

FFView Troubleshooting ReportSmall bug - Version: 0.9.8, 1/26/2007 05:09PM PST

Hi! First of all congrats on the excellent program you've put together, it's just awesome! Undoubtedly the best comic book viewer available.
However I've run into a small bug: on many archives there is something wrong with the order the pages appear, they are correctly ordered, but the list starts with a random number, i.e. 15. I guess that the problem is not from the archives, as other programs open them and the list is ok. I'm running the latest version on a 12" iBook with OS X 10.4.8

FFView ReviewA few bugs - Version: 0.9.6, 7/28/2006 04:18AM PST

This wouldn't give me a full page view - truncating the bottom half of the page of a .cbr file. In page view - it was fine - but too small to view. After several try's and reading up - couldn't get it to display pages correctly.

Then searched and found COMICAL.

Comical worked well - although a bit slow on it's "pre-loading" of pages. I re-set the pre-page to 15 pages... and that part improved a little bit. Viewing the pages in zoom or full page - was good.Get it here:

I was previously using Jomic which is very slow. FFView is much faster, I like the image list - makes things much easier when images are in the wrong order.
I do have two minor issues
1. it doesn't seem to 'remember' when I expand the size of the window. Everytime I change to a new picture the window size resets.
2. Zooming in and out doesn't have any effect. Nothing happens when I use the View Menu or when I use the keyboard shortcut.
Overall great app, can't wait for the next release.

I was using FF View earlier today, but now when I try to open any of my digital comics I receive the following error. I am running FF View version 0.9.6 and OS 10.4.6

Filename: /Volumes/.../... Documents/Fanfic Stuff/X-Men/Digital Comics/Ultimate X-Men/Ultimate X-Men #0.5.cbr
Message: "Failed to open the RAR file '/Volumes/.../... Documents/Fanfic Stuff/X-Men/Digital Comics/Ultimate X-Men/Ultimate X-Men #0.5.cbr'"

this is easily the best comic reader for mac. overall I have been satisfied with its features.

On occasion, I have had problems during a reading, where it will refuse to load the next picture in the list. The marker in the image list, will say that its opened the next image, but the picture will not change. If I go forward a few pictures and then come back, it will load it ...sometimes.
Not sure what kinda bug this is, but its pretty annoying.

FFView ReviewUseful software - Version: 0.9, 10/5/2005 01:50AM PST

This is the best (read only) comicbook viewer application on the Mac.

Its very customisable (ie. very easy to change the pre-defined keys and mouse clicks) and has a good range of options for viewing comicbooks fullscreen or windowed.

The only (minor) problem is that it doesnt gracefully handle corrupted cbr/cbz files. It will just quit when you try to open them rather than give you a helpful error message.

Two thumbs up.

Fast, reliable, creative solution for .CBR and .CBZ files.
Best comic viewer on any platform, and it keeps getting better.
