Create a slideshow in iPhoto choosing your audio via the "Music" button, select it and go to File>Export. The result: QuickTime movie file in .mov format. For file conversion use QTAmateur, rooVid Lite, iSquint and the likes.

...and seems to me you would be better off using Keynote, which has other uses, to produce very aesthetic and easy to produce interactive presentations and export those to Flash.
Specialised software has to be quite compelling to be worth the initial cost and effort it takes to learn to use it.

Spinning beach ball in 10.4.6 - Version: 1.118, 4/18/2006 12:44PM PST

Hi,
The Vertical Moon website is down and i can't seem to figure this one out. When i try to startup SWF 'n Slide or even SWF 'n Slide Pro, i just get the spinning beach ball and the startup logo.
I just installed 10.4.6 on 2 machines and have the same problem with both. Does anyone have any ideas or workarounds?

I bought this in a bundle with all 3 of their apps -- which gives the best price. The software works well and the company behind it is outstanding. The documentation is lacking, but such is expected for a 1.x version. As a paying customer though, I do expect this to improve greatly in future versions.
And to the poster who gives it one star and suggest we all just use Flash, I wish to say that people would not be buying apps like this if Flash was user-friendly and easy to use. Indeed, Macromedia gears their software toward programmer-types who spend all day contemplating code in a dimly lit room. This app is truly "for the rest of us." It epitomizes the GUI of the Mac very well and makes the life of creative designers more productive. If you love hacking code or long for serious challenges in your life, stick with Flash.

So far so good. A few problems, but overall a great program. Its nice to FINALLY have an alternative to using Swish on VPC. Not the optimal solution.

This program does exactly what it says it does and does it well.
I needed to find a program that would create great, cross-platform slide shows and I found this one almost by accident. Because I needed a classy show (with nice cross disolves - not the crappy ones from Acrobat), this program fit the bill. And I don't have the time (or money) go and buy Flash and learn it just to do one thing: make stand alone slide shows that are both PC and Mac compatible.
This program fit the bill perfectly. It's the right price and the learning curve is quite small. It has a lot of hidden power and produces very professional results.
Also, I downloaded version 1.013 and found it to have a few little bugs in it. I fired off an email to the company's support line and got a return message with the half hour. This new version has the fixes that I asked for in my message. And all this within 24 hours!
I also wanted an additional, more graphically subdued, slide controller for people to pause, rewind and fast forward the slide show. Well, the people at Vertical Moon created one for me (since I do not own Flash, and the graphics for the controller are in Flash format) and emailed it to me. They did not have to do that, but they did. That's what I call customer service.
This is a nice program and worth the money. It will save me lots of time and will help me look good to my clients.

Ugg! Not very well programed and poorly executed program. save the dough and learn a few actionscripts. there is nothing that this does that someone with a day to learn a bit of actionscript could not do better his/her self.

I've used this for a bit and just got the Text Osterone from them as well. There's only one word that I can use. Solid. No, the program isn't perfect (yet) but the tech support is solid, and they actually care about us as users. I let them know of some issues and they got me a fix in a few hours. True, I shouldn't have to wait for help, but for $40 you can't have the moon, but you can have a great app from Vertical Moon.
