Does just as advertised. I was wishing I had something like this just a couple days ago. Thanks

IndexFinger Usage TipResponse for drmemory1 - Version: 1.0, 8/17/2003 06:22PM PST

The index file is the name of the file that your server will select to be the index. In general, this will be "index.html" or "index.htm".

The adding hyperlinks listed in pages is definitely a possible feature for future versions! Thanks for the suggestion!

IndexFinger CommentaryQuestion - Version: 1.0, 8/17/2003 09:03AM PST

This product seems to work fine, although I'm a bit confused and have some comments on a couple of things. 1) I don't understand what the "Index File Name" is (I don't find one created either). what's the difference between it and the "Site Index File Name"? 2) I wish that one could select more than one folder at a time to index. 3) I wish that all hyperlinks contained on any html page would also be added to the index. IOW, if a folder contains two html pages and each of those pages contain a list of hyperlinked PDF files, I'd like all those links to also appear on the Index. Thanks.

IndexFinger CommentaryOkay... - Version: 0.91, 7/11/2003 11:35AM PST

Firstly, a warning should be given if you're going to overwrite a file, no matter what. Secondly, improve the HTML generated--make sure it conforms to XHTML1, there's no reason for it not to. Use standards-compliant XHTML combined with CSS for layout. And...if you're charging for it, it's good enough for me to criticise, whether it's beta or not.

IndexFinger Troubleshooting ReportYour comments are vague - Version: 0.91, 7/11/2003 10:21AM PST

I am interested in improving my product (this is a pre-release with limited UI), so please send descriptions of any bugs you find to info@geneffects.com. Regarding writing over the "important file," this does not happen unless you specify the output file name as one that already exists.

IndexFinger ReviewTerrible! - Version: 0.91, 7/11/2003 09:53AM PST

Unremarkable
Interface bugs, bad HTML generated, not to mention that it over-wrote an important file on my hard drive without asking!
