Appears to have been abandoned - Version: 2.0 RC3, 2/12/2009 04:50AM PST
teejayeff_dotmac
The developer appears to have abandoned this product completely, the ibloggers forum has been taken down (losing a huge amount of information) and support tickets on the Lifli site go unanswered. I've used v1 for years and it still works on 10.5.6 on Intel, but v2 was never properly sorted. Don't risk your money.
Will not launch since upgrade to Leopard - Version: 2.0 RC3, 5/15/2008 02:09PM PST

I just updated to Leopard and when I try to open iBlog, it completely locks up my Mac. It bounces on the doc, then stops bouncing, and all I get is a spinning ball. I can't even force quit and have to turn off the power and restart. I've opened a problem ticket with Lifli, but gotten no response.
This product hasn't been updated since 08/2007. It might be time to give up and move on to an actively supported product.

Please note that the support and registration emails have been changed to reduce Spam. Check http://www.lifli.com/Contact for the actual emails or select the appropriate options in the "Help" menu in iBlog.

Still unable to register 2.0 - Version: 2.0 RC2, 4/15/2007 12:45AM PST

Same as with previous two posts. Now April 15, 2007, 3:40 AM, Eastern Daylight saving Time, Lifli's server does not allow registration. My Internet connection is OK, and I had no problem downloading iBlog 2.0. Maybe the developers are debating whether to request an upgrade fee? :-)
Cannot register 2.0 and support email does not work. - Version: 2.0 RC2, 4/14/2007 01:15PM PST

I'm a registered user from the previous version and I'm unable to register this new version. I get an error message stating that I'm not connnected to the internet (I am). In addition, when attempting to send a screen shot of the error to the developer both email addresses found (register@lifli.com and support@lifli.com) come back undeliverable.

It's good to know the developer is not dead. He's a nice guy, but I've been emailing him off on on over the last several months as to why my registration doesn't work anymore to no reply. I figured Lifli had closed shop. I haven't used it for a long time (since I begain having registration problems, but in many ways I liked it more than the iWeb I am currently using.

iBlog is pretty good. I like it a lot.

I have been using iBlog for almost 3 years as a daily journal writing tool with no problems and when I had a question, the developer was quick to respond and solved my question.
The version I've been using was free version with a .Mac subscription back in summer 2003.
This version is pretty good and can handle large database of blogs and I love that it can search the entire database, years of notes and find exactly what I was looking for!
I can honestly say that iBlog has been so good in my experience that
I bought it even though I did not have to.

I tried to purchase it today (12/27/05) and have experienced a number of problems with the software vendor and their third party merchant services provider, CCAvenue.
The primary complication in purchasing this software is that Lifli will only accept Rupees (dumb!) and, thus, you must use a credit card. I did that, using a platinum select card at that, and the purchase was shown to be declined by CCAvenue, yet, when I contacted my credit card provider, they stated they approved the purcahase.
To add insult to injury, during a live chat trying to resolve this, I was treated as if I had done something wrong and/or was as if I was some kind of clueless loser with a maxed out credit card.
Now Lifli and CCAvenue have my personal information (via the verification process for the card), and valuable marketing information, and I have a worthless piece of software that I can't do anything with because I can't purchase it with a credit card that I use daily.
