Macaroni CommentarySnow Leopard compatibility - Version: 2.1.1, 10/29/2009 03:45PM PST

It's not made clear here in any way, which is a shame, but according to the developer's website: Snow Leopard Compatibility Today's release of Mac OS X 10.6, a.k.a. Snow Leopard, has brought many questions from people who want to know-- Does your software work on this new version of Mac OS X? The answer is, very simply, "yes". The current versions of all of my software work just fine on Snow Leopard. No updates are needed, so you can keep using the version you have.

The tool is very good! Have your file permissions repaired once a week without any hassle!

It also reveals a weekness of VersionTrackerPro - if you have installed Macaroni VersionTrackerPro does not recognise it, at least not with 10.4.11.

Unobtrusive, set it up, and it just works. I have it installed on several Macs. I find it much easier to configure than *censored*tail, for example.

Macaroni Troubleshooting ReportClear history still Ineffective - Version: 2.1.1, 1/8/2008 01:51AM PST

Clear history still not working with 2.1.1 version. (Leopard 10.5.1 Macbook pro and PPC)

You can clear it but when you re-openned the history window, log are still there !

Another thing :

You can't alway put to 7 days for exemple, the "Automatically clear entries". It always stay on 90 days even if you put it on 7 days ...

More, Support is not effective, they never answer .

I'm really disappointed

It just works. It does what it says it does. It is easy. It is working invisible in the background. Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful program. I'm glad it's updated for Leopard as I would wait for that otherwise. I do wish the author would add a few more features.

Macaroni ReviewCan't Clear History - Version: 2.0.8, 7/12/2007 09:49AM PST

Version 2.0.8 apparently broke something as I can no longer Clear History. Clear History button is dimmed. If it wern't for that it would get 5 stars.

This is actually a comment directed at Adobe -- why can't you make applications like "the rest of us"? The vast majority of apps for the Mac do not have ANY problem with having unnecessary and extraneous languages stripped out of their packaging (=delocalization), which can save huge amounts of disk space. But, Adobe apps are too sensitive and fragile and "don't like it". Great -- another thing to keep track of that's different.

Excellent product. I cannot fault it. Runs the Intel Mac just as it did on the PPC previously. I check the log occasionally and I've never had a problem. Why the name?

Macaroni ReviewGood program, lukewarm support (if that) - Version: 2.0.7, 11/3/2006 10:28PM PST

I purchased three licenses for more Macaroni more than a year ago, and was very pleased with its performance on my Macs. It did everything it said it would, and it did it quietly, without fuss. The interface could be a bit slicker, but all in all it seemed a very good program.

Then it came time to upgrade to Tiger, and I found I had a question about the relationship between Macaroni and launchd. I posted my question on Atomic Bird's official support site, and emailed the author, and was completely ignored. I'm not sure why he hasn't bothered to answer my question (it seems a lot of the questions posted on that site go unanswered), but I'm feeling a bit miffed.

For the first year or so this program impressed me enough that I would normally want to give it at least four stars; the lack of support, however, forces me to give it only three stars.
