Xupport ReviewDoes not install - Version: 3.5.0, 6/29/2009 08:21AM PST

I have bought Xupport in 2007 and was quite happy with it, until version 3.4.3; then the installer seemed to work well, however it failed to install the software; there simply was no file called Xupport anywhere on my harddisk. The very same happened with 3.5.

I informed the developer in May 2008, however never received a reply, despite my reminding him at least once. So off the remaining files go from my harddisk. There are enough similar programs around that work.

Xupport ReviewThe Best of the Lot - Version: 3.5.0, 1/13/2009 11:05AM PST

I have tried, and purchased, so many of these maintenance/optimization apps. Some of them are fairly good. Some of them are a mixed bag. Some are free. Some are ridiculously, unnecessarily complicated. And some are actually a bit dangerous, and tend to create problems, that are a pain to fix. But Xupport is safe, fast, thorough and elegant.

I've been using Xupport for the past few years now, and I can not even say one bad word about it. A good example of just how good, powerful, and simple to use, a quality OS X utility app can (and should) be. This is by far the best of the lot. Kudos. *****

i've just tested at http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ with Xupport's network optimization enabled and disabled, for both cable and satellite connections (i have cable, but it's faster by default than a lot of cable connections) and discovered that my 'net connection is actually faster with Xupport's optimization *off* than with it on.

your mileage may vary. i recommend testing your own connection with Xupport's network optimization on and off before drawing any conclusions from this...i thought i should pass it along though...
