Product Description:

PCI Radeon users rejoice! This patch will enable hardware accelerated features in CoreGraphics any PCI video card with the proper hardware. Easy, eh? The patch that PCI Extreme! performs will not allow older cards, such as the Rage II, Rage 128 Pro, Nexus, or any Voodoo or nVidia cards to utilize hardware acceleration. Unless the AGP counterpart to your card can power a feature, the PCI equivalent will not be able to, even with this patch. That is the bottom line.

Unfortunately, because Apple hardcoded the setting into CoreGraphics, I'm not aware of a way to enable both AGP and PCI graphics quartz acceleration at the same time in 10.4. If you know a way, please let me know.

Packages for 10.2 / 10.3 are included but the main application will only patch Tiger.

What's new in this version:

Improved Tiger support. I no longer rely on MD5 sums and binary difference patches. This means that the program will never give an unsupported binary message ever again. Certified "safe" in 10.4.0. Use with future versions at your own risk.

Operating System Requirements:

This product is designed to run on the following operating systems:

Follow the simple instructions, for a B&W G3 with a PCI Radeon 7000, select enable PCI and restart after entering your software install password.

I noticed the smoothness of the Dock immediately.

PCI Extreme! Usage TipCould not get functioning with Radeon 7000 - Version: 3.0, 4/30/2005 12:24AM PST

I have a PCI Radeon 7000 and could not get the patch to work because it threw up an error saying my CoreImage binary was different than the one it knew. Is this radeon not high end enough for the patch? It appears so to me, but I hope the developer can prove me wrong.
