GameRanger ReviewGood and betting better - Version: 4.6.7, 12/23/2007 07:21PM PST

I've been using Game Ranger for several years now and it works as advertised. Buying Gold or Silver service adds a lot to the games it supports such as voice. Evill (the developer) isn't as responsive as he could be but he does aggressively work issues and resolve them in a timely manner (with one exception).

All in all, this is a great program for mac.

The developer trolls the chat rooms as user "evill" looking for people to argue with, 1v1 with, etc. then ban them when they do not kiss his butt. Avoid GameRanger and then man-child developer.

Just about the only game I play now on the Mac is World of Warcraft, which, thank God, does not require GamerAnger in any way. The author is unresponsive to troubleshooting issues after multiple emails and I can only guess he is still quick to perma-ban users that offend him (no, I was not one of them). I'm sure he's nice to those who fork over the 50 duckets a year to him, I will never be one of them.

Good riddance.

GameRanger Troubleshooting ReportCrashes HP network printers - Version: 4.6.2, 12/16/2006 10:24AM PST

When this program starts, it crashes HP network printers. For some reason, when GameRanger starts, it sends UPnP SSDP broadcasts that crashes my HP PhotoSmart C6180 printer, which is connected via Ethernet.
IT seems that the SSDP packets might be malformed making the printer crash.

GameRanger ReviewGood but... - Version: 4.5.2, 7/29/2006 09:48PM PST

Great program that adds to the enjoyment of the various games it supports. However, the developer's methods of fixing bugs takes months, leaving games cripples in the meantime.

If Scott Kevill would fix bugs or roll versions back to known good versions prior to updating them (referring to Ghost Recon lag problem that lasted MONTHS) this would be a great program, as it is, I can't recommend.

If some of you can't connect to GameRanger and are using the Test version for Premium members, delete the test version and re-download GameRanger. The test version is not capable of updating to the newest version.

Awesome service to play games on Mac, easy setup, nice chat, but a little rowdy and adult-like sometimes. Premium is a little pricey but worth it!
