Printing to an EPSON 740 had gone haywire. Nothing worked until I used this program to reset the printing system.

Yes, this program really does rock! I've had 2 problems printing to my Epson C86, and PSR fixed both of them!

1) Printing slowed to a crawl for no apparent reason.
2) Printing jobs were always "Stopped" for no apparent reason.

Mashing a few buttons in the PSR GUI got me going again both times! Thanks Fixamac!

We are currently working on PSR 4.2.1 which will correct some bugs that were discovered during the development of PSR 5.0 for Tiger. These bugs will not impede the general operation of PSR 4.2 and will not cause any harm. The update will be available within the next few days.

I just got a MacMini. It joined my old PowerPC G4 (AGP) desktop, hubby's PowerBook & the grandkid's ancient Blueberry iMac on our family network.

Loaded the 10.3.9 update and could no longer print to my trusty old HP LaserJet 6MP. UNLESS the PB was running, then it saw it as a shared printer. But it wouldn't "see" it on the desktop G4.

Though I spent ALL day today trying everything, I was lucky to have found you! Your Printer Setup Repair worked great. I suspected it had something to do with PPDs. I used to work in prepress and know something about them, but... I'm no software writer!

I'm dropping a check in the mail to you tomorrow first thing! After writing a post on Apple's discussion boards.

Again, thank you so much,

Sally D

note to developer: please give us a command line tool we can use to run these repairs. this would allow systems admins the ability to run via cron or logout script.

one try and i was hooked. i purchased a license and push my design/production clients to do the same.

In 2002, when this utility first came out (as Print Center Repair to match Apple's name for its Print Center utility), a friend was loving but hating OSX as he was unable to print for his business. After dinner I downloaded this app, ran it - and his printer was fine. (A week later I volunteered to beta test.)

I cannot begin to count how many times this app has helped me to print or helped me help others. It's so simple to use that I can talk people through it over the phone or at user group meetings.

Last week I could print one night but not the next day. My HP laserjet 4m is plugged into my router, then I have been accessing it via IP over wi-fi. Suddenly my Mac was telling me the network was busy. No printing possible. Since I beta test this app, I ran it. All my permissions checked out fine. Clearing cache stuff didn't help. So I hit the reset button, restarted my Mac, added my printer anew - and I can print again!

I hate to think of the downtime and frustration I'd be dealing with now while I need to print (for the Mac Gathering) and would have had to deal over these OS X years without this app!

Printer Setup Repair ReviewSaved Me When No One Else Could!! - Version: 4.1.8, 3/31/2005 03:10PM PST

There is nothing more frustrating that downloading one of HP's updated drivers only to never be able to print again!

I had over 20 hours invested in calls to HP, calls to Apple, calls to my ultra-knowledgable Mac friend Steve, posting "Help me" messages on the Internet and none of them rendered me able to print again.

Then, I bought and used this wonderful software and within minutes, my printer was printing perfectly!!

Thank you FixaMac! You saved me from jumping out the window!!

Printer Setup Repair ReviewGreat product! Saved our butts more than once! - Version: 4.1.8, 2/17/2005 12:15PM PST

This product is fantastic! This has saved our butts before, and saved them again today! We had one computer on the network that, for some reason, would not "see" the additional paper trays in the print dialog box. All the other computers on the network, with all the same printer drivers, COULD see these additional paper trays. We ran Printer Setup Repair, and all of our problems were solved! Hooray for Printer Setup Repair, yet again!
