There is no mention anywhere of what this version release covers. I don't think most people like mystery-ware.

do try and add the charting abilities I had mentioned before. It would really help your sales if nothing else and give the other notation software some real competition.
This software is…

very promising but has serious shortcommings for the working arranger/composer. There is no easy way to add chord symbols for lead sheets, guitar parts, etc., making this a tool of limited appeal. The figured bass option is a strange feature and the lute tool; why!? It installed itself to the root as well, meaning that I could not get rid of it so easily. For now, Sibelius is the best.

looking for a powerful notation tool for OSX give NoteAbility a try. I use it for arrangements, method books, etc. Drag on images, text, create amazing handouts for your Music Theory class. Taking the time to learn it has its rewards. The tutorials are good as well. Excellent work, Keith, looking forward to adding the import/export of Finale files..(wink!)... Seriously, if it only had that one feature it would replace Finale. Until then, I'll convert Finale to midi, etc. At least the output is worth the extra work.
I had no…

trouble installing and you can download the full installation online, MacHead. I have used Finale, Sibelius, and Encore; none of these applications compared to the ease of use of NoteAbility, plus it is OSX native! I had a problem with one of the notation fonts; I contacted the author and he sent me a revised copy of the font in under 24 hours. The tech support on NoteAbility is a model for which all other software developers should strive.

preliminary review of the demo mode, I am impressed. There are a few things I'd like to see changed, but overall, this appears to be a good-quality, slick-appearing, full-featured music notation program. I had no problem downloading it, nor starting the program. I too would prefer the option of installing it in a subfolder of Applications or my own app folder.

using this program for the past 6 years (first on NextStep). It is designed to produce professional scores and part extraction. The output is beautiful! It is created by an avante-guarde composer and can handle most anything in this context. I have had excellent support and so far all upgrades have been free (for the past 6 years!)
