bgrubbAs far as a reader is concerned take a look at Skim, an open source PDF reader, which seems to do everything Adobe Reader does and does it a LOT better.
Acrobat 9 Pro = Lots of Problems

tlisztSome of the features that DID work are NOW BROKEN:
• The PDF Maker floating palette in MS-Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) no longer work. Clicking the PDF icon to create a PDF from your document does nothing.
• From within Acrobat 9 Pro, the *basic function* to create a PDF from a file (File—> Create PDF—> From File, then select *any* MS-Office document (.doc, .docx, .wks, .xls, etc.) results in an error that states the file type is NOT supported.
• I spoke with Adobe Tech Support who confirmed that the *only* way to create a PDF from an Office document is to PRINT to the Adobe 9 Printer driver. (less than intuitive)
So it appears that functions and features that worked just fine in Acrobat 8 Professional, are now broken with this update.
ABSURD! Why release an upgrade that doesn't work with the (by far) most popular and pervasive MS-Office software?!
More and more I am disappointed with Adobe's products and support for the Mac OSX platform.
