CK's Text-to-Speech to MP3 CommentaryThis is now a built in feature of Snow Leopard - Version: 0.9.3, 11/22/2009 09:44PM PST

This is now a built in feature of Snow Leopard.

How to use this built in feature, under Snow Leopard:
1. Select the text to be converted to speech.
2a. (If enabled) Under the application menu (eg. "Safari"), pull down to Services, and choose
"Add to iTunes as Spoken Track".
2b. (If not enabled), just choose the "Services Preferences" choice from the Services menu, and enable that choice under the "text" section of keyboard shortcuts. Now do step 2a.

Ta da! Great spoken text in iTunes. Change voices via the Speech system preference.

CK's Text-to-Speech to MP3 ReviewGraduate student's savior - Version: 0.9.3, 10/18/2009 04:38AM PST

As a doctoral student, this little set of applescripts is a dream come true. We have to read a lot for our courses. I also work full-time as a consultant and must drive around VT and MA for work and practicum. Now my time in my car can be put to constructive use.

A PC friend showed me a cross-platform program that I stupidly bought based upon a demonstration of her PC app. The Mac version was a watered down, inadequate pos--lesson learned the hard way.

I have yet to use the most recent version, but it appears to have even more options than before!, I just installed it now, and will be using it later today. And it's free. Thank you.l

Great little applescript. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. What a simple, elegant solution. Thanks!
