Love it - Version: 0.8.6i, 7/23/2008 01:38PM PST

I have downloaded a version that was labeled VLCfree_8676.exe I love it! It plays the FLV files I download from YouTube plus my both my domestic and international DVD's. So far it has also played all the other media files I have tried to run with it so many that I have proceeded to uninstall the 2 or 3 other applications that I had been using. The only thing I have found an issue with is that it doesn't seem to save my settings but considering all the other goodies that it takes care of that's a very small thing to me.

VLC quits suddenly - Version: 0.8.6i, 7/20/2008 11:00AM PST

I just installed 0.8.6i and it spontaneously quits when I try to use it, including playing clips that VLC previously played successfully. I had the same problem with o.8.6g and reverted to .6f with some better success. But something sinister is going on, and I hope it can be swiftly resolved.

Not sure what all the hoorah! is about as I've tried no less than 4 versions and every time error messages have appeared whenever I use this program. Fast forward a movie and it collapses, even when it is direct from the disc.Each time a new version comes out I download it and the same error messages appear, will try this one and see what happens.
